by happy serendipity

in reality every day and every second is a first - there IS only NOW......but besides all that doing FIRSTS keeps us feeling alive, challenged, excited, enthusiastic, alert, focussed - HAPPY. recognising and acknowledging that you are indeed doing something for the first time is like seeing with the eyes of a child. everything is a wonder! firsts for me of late have been: picking wild berries & making juices, walking across the mudflats, riding in a horse & cart, making an espresso with a real coffee machine.....and yours?

I have been following Seth Godin for about a year now. He is a thinker, writer, publisher
and doles out daily advice in very easy to read and assimilate bite size chunks.

He spoke about writers' block and how he believes its a very easy thing to cure.
Comparing it to talking, and how we never get talkers' block. We just do it, often without much thinking and we don't judge every little thing coming from our mouths - because speech is so ephemeral, we don't stress about it.

The same he says for writing, just do it. If you write badly, you will soon see it's bad and start to clean it
up, learn a new way, find a different style, practise using different phrases, etc.

He says

Just write poorly. Continue to write poorly, in public, until you can write better.
I believe that everyone should write in public. Get a blog. Or use Squidoo or Tumblr or a microblogging site. Use an alias if you like. Turn off comments, certainly--you don't need more criticism, you need more writing.
Do it every day. Every single day. Not a diary, not fiction, but analysis. Clear, crisp, honest writing about what you see in the world. Or want to see. Or teach (in writing). Tell us how to do something.
So it's further encouragement to continue on with this experiment of ours I think.
From me, you will start to see a lot more of my opinion. I will stop relying  on only posting all the beautiful artwork of the people I admire, though it will still be featured because I have to celebrate the wonderful work  I see out there. I will start to show you my areas of expertise and the lessons I have learnt along the way.
Stay tuned, for I know not what it will look like.

OSTARA
SPRING EQUINOX

This is the time of equal day and equal night,
the balance of light and dark.
at this time we have the chance to invite balance into our lives.
Add this to the already potent energy of Spring,
and as we can see in our little patches of garden
we also have the opportunity for new growth, fresh starts and new beginnings.

I feel like i have been gestating for what seems like years  - my work-baby, which is in part women's business, wellness and spiritual kindling.
I am almost ready to give birth, spring is providing lots of growth, motivation and clarity.

Next year this beloved baby of mine will be revealed and shared
and best of all it is going to be a collaborative endeavour - which has room to grow, morph and transform both me and the people who are drawn to its path.

what dreams and intentions for new growth  do you have?
is there something you have been yearning to start?

Prayer of Becoming

May clarity grow within Me
Open my eyes to life's many Wonders
May I feel the pulse of all creation within Me
Open my spirit to Awareness
Fill my heart with Understanding
May my life be of service to Earth and the Goddess
Open my ears to the needs of those around Me
Make my hands strong & gentle in Your Service

May I remember always, the Goddess works through Me

we are all
bright shiny sparks
sparkling and soaring and falling and spinning and weaving and dancing and singing and
never alone
never solo
always connected
always one
-------
love yourself
love the ones you are with
love the ones you are without
just love
BE LOVE

This weekend past was the last time for gathering wild fruit and berries. It is so deeply satisfying taking from mother nature like this. And all Organic! First came the Elderberry blossoms, but the champagne went unfortunately foul somehow in the bottling. Then came the bilberries. Finding this perfectly pristine patch and then picking these little beauties felt like a lotto win. Most of them were eaten with pancakes. Then the blackberries. There were so many of these in so many places. Picking them is a bit harder because of the thorns - but the pain is worth it. And then finally the Elderberries. In the end we made 22 bottles of juice and a spicy chutney. And we got the occasional apple, pear and tomato too. Could mushrooms be next?

holly was at home with me and not at school, again.
she read a story from the irish legend collection called
"Children of Lir ".

i made her a list of spelling words to practise after reading
the story because i don't want to make days off a complete
party.

here's the list

children
daughter
dead
terribly
stories
bedtime
hugged
beautiful
kind-hearted
jealous
planned
druid

and here is one of the sentences she made from her list :

the beautiful and kindhearted girl was jealous because the druid flashed his wand at her.

on this blog and you might get a little prize as well.

                       i've always loved sundays
although not as much as saturday
friday is the coolest because the weekend lies ahead
and monday is definitely my least favourite
                                       tuesdays are red
                                             wednesday is green and
thursday is purple and my favourite
it's the day both my girls were born

There is a solitude of space
A solitude of sea
A solitude of death, but
these
Society shall be
Compared with that
profounder site
That polar privacy
A soul admitted to itself -
Finite infinity.
- Emily Dickinson
