This weekend past was the last time for gathering wild fruit and berries. It is so deeply satisfying taking from mother nature like this. And all Organic! First came the Elderberry blossoms, but the champagne went unfortunately foul somehow in the bottling. Then came the bilberries. Finding this perfectly pristine patch and then picking these little beauties felt like a lotto win. Most of them were eaten with pancakes. Then the blackberries. There were so many of these in so many places. Picking them is a bit harder because of the thorns - but the pain is worth it. And then finally the Elderberries. In the end we made 22 bottles of juice and a spicy chutney. And we got the occasional apple, pear and tomato too. Could mushrooms be next?

bilberry or blueberries as we know them in australia, are not only super food, but to me a WONDERfood.
Keep eating them, they will make your circulation better - everywhere in your body
not only the eyes, better blood flow = better health
you are so lucky to have them growing wild nearby
Wildcrafting is a skill we all need to learn
